Dear Local 19 Brothers and Sisters
At this time updates are being made for easy access to Continuing Education for Licensing for Washington State Mechanics on the NEIEP website. Updated access should be completed by January 24th 2014. Once updated, students should click on “Washington” on the list of states that have licensing to view options for continuing education. Until these updates are completed, please read and follow the instructions that are contained in the following paragraphs.
Washington State Elevator Mechanic License renewal courses offered by NEIEP, and approved by the Department of labor and Industries, are accessible via the NEIEP website. Once logged on to www.neiep.org courses can be accessed by clicking on “Student Gateway” followed by clicking on “Online Training and Licensing” followed by clicking on “Continuing Education Courses”. Three courses are available at this time. Each course, stand alone, is sufficient continuing education to satisfy the requirements for license renewal.
CE012.1 Machine Room Maintenance is the original course that was used for license renewal in the first go around of continuing education after the inception of licensing in Washington, and cannot be repeated by students that have a certification that was used for license renewal in prior years. CE012.1 however is available for mechanics who have obtained their license in the past six years, and who have not completed the course.
CE017.1 “Testing traction Elevators” and CE017.2 “Testing Hydraulic Elevators” are the other two courses available for Washington State Elevator Mechanic License renewal.
Once a student has logged onto the NEIEP website, and entered “Student Gateway”, he or she can check their NEIEP academic history by clicking on “Certificate Statement”, once there, students can review a record of certificates and courses along with completions dates.
Please contact me at email@example.com or by phone at 206-830-8125 with questions or concerns.
